World Wildlife Fund For more than 50 years, WWF has been protecting the future of nature.The world’s leading conservation organization, WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.1 million members in the United States and about 5 million globally. WWF is one of the largest non-governmental nature conservation organizations in the world. It was established in 1961. WWF has grown into a large influential conservation organization, and today the panda, their famous logo, is recognized by millions of people in the most remote corners of our planet.What is WWF? MissionWWF’s mission is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. What does WWF do?WWF focuses its work on the magnificent diversity of life on this planet, the extraordinary places we live in. It is trying to reduce humanity’s impact on this life and these places. Over 80% of future deforestation confined to just 11 places WWF began its work in Russia in 1988, with a project to protect the nature of the Lower Volga. During ten years more than 150 projects have been implemented. They opened offices in those regions that are most important for nature conservation and invited the best local specialists to collaborate with them. They determine WWF’s success in Russia.WWF in Russia They invested nearly US$10 billion in more than 13,000 conservation projects in over 150 countries.
